KOHIMA — A total of four new model colleges have been sanctioned for Nagaland under the PM-USHA scheme to date.
Minister for Higher Education Temjen Imna Along stated this in a written response to an unstarred question by MLA Jwenga Seb during the eighth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in Kohima.
On whether any New Model College (NMC) is being established on private land, the minister mentioned that three NMCs are being established on private land.
These include NMC at Nyukenyu Khunlo, Terogvunyu in Tseminyu, NMC at Kiantangkeng in Noklak, and NMC at Yimluzang in Shamator.

Construction of the PWD guest house at Tseminyu has been stopped due to fund constraints, and completion of the project during the financial year 2026-2027 will depend on fund allocation.
Minister for Housing Bashangmongba Chang informed the House on Monday in a written reply to MLA Jwenga Seb, who had raised the matter through an unstarred question.
The minister stated that administrative approval had been obtained prior to the issuance of the work order.
He further informed that the project was included in the department’s compiled priority proposal list for 2026-2027 and that it intends to complete it during the same period. However, he said that completion will depend on the allocation of funds.
