Nagaland Gaonbura Federation Peace Committee welcomes the NSCN (K) Ang Mai-Mulatonu group peace initiative in Myanmar
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Gaonbura Federation Peace Committee (NGBFPC) has welcomed the peace initiative between the NSCN (K) Ang Mai-Mulatonu group and Myanmar’s National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Committee (NSPNC), held in Nay Pyi Taw on October 22.
In a press release, the NGBFPC described the development as an encouraging step towards dialogue, reconciliation and lasting peace in the region.
The federation stated that it had consistently appealed to the Government of India to declare a ceasefire and initiate peaceful dialogue with the NSCN (K) Ang Mai-Mulatonu group.
It said the recent initiative in Myanmar had reinforced its belief that longstanding differences could be resolved through mutual understanding, constructive engagement and peaceful negotiations.
The NGBFPC also urged the Centre and the NSCN (K) leadership to enter into a formal ceasefire agreement and establish a structured peace process.
