  • KOHIMA/DIMAPUR — Following the successful debut of the Nagaland Super League (NSL), the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) was presented with the “Special Award for Member Association Launching New Projects” by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) on May 2 during the AIFF Annual Awards held in Bhubaneswar.

  • The award function was held in the Odisha capital on the eve of the Kalinga Super Cup 2025 final. The NFA shared the award with the Kerala Football Association.

  • Meanwhile, in a press statement, the NFA said that the award is a national recognition of the NFA’s bold strides in football development, with the launch and success of the NSL serving as the defining achievement.

  • “This award is not just a milestone for the NFA—it is a celebration of the entire Nagaland football family. From grassroots mentors to league officials, from passionate fans to young players chasing their dreams, this recognition belongs to every person who believes in the power of football to transform Nagaland,” it read.

  • It further stated that the award reaffirms the NFA’s shared mission—to build a sustainable, inclusive, and inspiring football future for Nagaland.
