DIMAPUR — The Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Nagaland, Kohima, has informed that it is simplifying the process for applicants requiring a ‘no objection certificate (NOC)/Fire Safety Certificate’ to ease the burden and reduce the time consumed.
According to a DIPR report, applicants must now submit a duly filled application form (Form "D") of the Nagaland Fire and Emergency Services (NFES) Act, 2021 (along with required documents such as building plan, site plan, layout plan, fire safety measure plan, etc.) addressed to the officer-in-charge.
After conducting a site inspection of the premises for verifying the installation of fire and life safety measures by the inspecting officers (IOs)/assistant inspecting officers (Asst. IOs), the officers-in-charge (OCs) are to forward the inspection report to the Fire Headquarters (FHQ) along with the requisite documents (as noted above) only after compliance and fulfilment of the criteria for granting of the NOC.
IOs/Asst. IOs have also been directed to maintain proper records of the inspection, such as the number of inspections carried out/site visits, inspection date and time, distance from the Fire station, and type of occupancy, whereby the data is to be provided as and when required by FHQ.
