DIMAPUR — Multiple higher educational institutions across Nagaland organised academic development, digital skilling, cultural, and awareness programmes in their respective campuses.
Pranab College: Pranab College, Dimapur, held its 35th annual function-cum-freshers’ social on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur Dr. Tinojongshi Chang attended as the chief guest, released the college magazine "Pranab Vision", and launched "PortalZ", an online student portal.
Joint Secretary Swami Chinmayanandajee Maharaj and Principal Dr. Santosh Kumar addressed the gathering.
Academic excellence awards were conferred on Ihecile Siang, Kedarai Chewang, Veronica K Yeptho, Shenok Chetpa Konyak, Pushpa Kumari, and Rishita Das. Dinoka Achumi and Menjei Konyak were crowned Mr. and Miss Freshers 2026.
Fazl Ali College: Fazl Ali College (FAC), in collaboration with Government Polytechnic Mokokchung, organised a faculty development programme on "AI tools training for teachers" on September 28 at the FAC conference hall in Mokokchung.
According to an update, FAC Principal Dr. I Wati Imchen termed the programme the beginning of an unending dialogue on artificial intelligence (AI).

Unity College: Under the banner of "Seva Hi Sanskriti - Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026", the Department of Teacher Education of Unity College, Dimapur, in collaboration with Zoe Theatre and Art Association, Niuland, staged a street play titled "Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi - Swachhta Ki Nayi Kahani" at Government Higher Secondary School, Lingrijan, Dimapur, on Tuesday.
The programme was organised by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.
Nagaland University: The valedictory ceremony of Hindi Fortnight 2026 was held on September 28 at the administrative building of Nagaland University in Lumami.
Vice Chancellor Jagadish Kumar Patnaik attended as the chief guest, while Registrar Dr. Abemo administered an official language pledge. Somenath Bhattacharjee delivered the keynote address.
