Dimapur and other Nagaland districts to face six more dry days as India Meteorological Department forecasts below-normal rain.

DIMAPUR — Dimapur, along with the other districts in the state, is experiencing clear skies and stable weather, but it is pushing up temperatures, making winters warmer and drier.
With a drought-like situation, the state has already been dry for four months, and according to the India Meteorological Department, the districts in the state are expected to experience another six days of dry spell as per an update.
The Meteorological Centre Kohima on Saturday, in its district rainfall forecast for Nagaland, updated that while Kohima district will experience isolated rainfall (1 to 25%) on March 1, the rest of the districts – Dimapur, Peren, Phek, Kiphire, Zunheboto, Tuensang, Mokokchung, Wokha, Longleng and Mon – will experience a dry spell with no rainfall.

The dry spell will continue in all the districts till March 6, as per the weather forecast.
The monthly rainfall outlook for March 2026 reported that Northeast India and some parts of northwest and east central India are likely to experience below-normal rainfall.
