DIMAPUR — Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton on Thursday said that he has directed Director General of Police (DGP), Nagaland, to conduct a thorough investigation into the reported sale of alcohol during an exhibition football match held at the Chümoukedima Police Complex.
Responding to media queries upon his arrival in Dimapur from New Delhi, Patton said that he had already instructed the DGP to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter.
When asked about his recent visit to New Delhi and his meeting with Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, Patton replied that discussions were held on oil exploration in Nagaland.
He further informed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was scheduled to be signed later in the afternoon on June 11.

Asked which company would be awarded the contract for the project, Patton clarified that the selection would be made through a competitive bidding process.
Responding to concerns over the increasing crimes against women and children in the state, including recent arrests and cases registered under the POCSO Act, Patton described the incidents as "very unfortunate."
He pointed out that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted, and investigation underway. He added that he had directed officials to complete it at the earliest.
On the issue concerning the Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation (ENPO), the deputy chief minister declined to comment but said that ENPO representatives would soon travel to Delhi to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
