DIMAPUR — Nagaland secured a resounding 10-wicket victory over Arunachal Pradesh in the Col. CK Nayudu Trophy (Plate Group) U-23 multi-day match held at the Sovima Cricket Ground, Sovima, from October 26.
According to an update, Arunachal Pradesh, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, struggled against Nagaland’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for 142 in 63.2 overs.
T. Jacob’s patient 48 off 173 balls was the only substantial contribution as Nagaland’s Anil Gupta impressed with figures of 5 for 37 from 19.2 overs, while Neizekho claimed 3 for 9 and Kelhousilie Zaputou took 2 for 40.
In reply, Nagaland posted 204 in 56.1 overs to take a 62-run first-inning lead.

Keneizetuo Rio top-scored with 53 off 144 balls, while Kavito added 43 off 82 balls to help their side secure the advantage. Arunachal’s Amarjeet Sharma bowled brilliantly to return with 6 for 68 in 19.1 overs.
Arunachal Pradesh again faltered in their second inning, managing only 68 in 33.2 overs. Leki Tsering scored 21 off 43, while Neizekho produced a match-winning spell of 6 for 8 in 10.2 overs, supported by Zaputou with 2 for 13.
Chasing a target of just 7 runs, Nagaland openers Keneizetuo Rio (5 not out) and Mughavi Sumi (2 not out) reached 7 without loss in two overs to complete an emphatic 10-wicket win.
