DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Cricket Association hosted the preparatory camp of the North East Zone team for the Duleep Trophy 2025-26, held from August 18 to the 24th.
According to a press release, this marks the second time the association has had the honour of organising the camp.
The camp provided an intensive training platform for the North East Zone squad ahead of their highly anticipated clash against Central Zone, scheduled from August 28 to the 31st, at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, Bengaluru.
It said that the fixture promises to be a stern test for the North East Zone team, as the Central Zone line-up features several established Team India cricketers, including Dhruv Jurel (captain), Rajat Patidar, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar, and Khaleel Ahmed.
The Duleep Trophy is one of India’s premier first-class cricket tournaments, where zonal teams compete in multi-day matches. It serves as a critical platform for talented players to showcase their skills and provides national selectors with the opportunity to identify future stars for the Indian cricket team.
