Manipur’s Thokchom Sanjeeta won a bronze medal in the women’s up to 55 kg category at the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2025.

IMPHAL — Manipur's Thokchom Sanjeeta won India a bronze medal at the 57th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2025 in Bangkok. The weeklong championship will conclude on Monday.
Sanjeeta, who trains at World Gym, Yaiskul, in Imphal West district, bagged the bronze medal in the women's up to 55 kg category competition as Malaysia's Meilaura Dora Jimmy was crowned the winner.
Dinh Kim Loan of Vietnam finished second in the competition to settle for a silver medal, while Sasmal Pinki of India finished fourth.
Earlier, this year's Mr. Imphal East title holder, Chongtham Bluncely, on August 22 won a silver medal in the junior men's above 75 kg category competition, as Manipur's Mayanglambam Olenjit secured fifth place in the same competition. Bluncely is training at Ogust Gym, Checkon, in Imphal East.
Natchanon Maosem of Thailand won in the said competition, as Yasar Samir Ehsan of Afghanistan finished third and Vietnam's Le Huu Thien finished fourth.
Manipur's Hawaibam Ricky, who competed in the junior men's bodybuilding competition for the up to 75 kg category, finished fourth as Farasat Ali Khan of Pakistan claimed the top honour.
India's Bhushan Dutt Gaur settled for the runner-up title in the category, as Baitullah Zadran of Afghanistan finished second runner-up and Firoj of India finished fourth runner-up. Five athletes from Manipur represented India at the said championship.
