NCSU President launches shamator unit

  • DIMAPUR — President of Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU), Pele Khezhie, launched the Shamator District Contractors and Suppliers’ Union (SDCSU) on Friday in presence of NCSU officials from the head office and representatives from Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) and district administration.

  • In his address as the special guest, Khezhie asserted that the establishment of SDCSU was aimed at facilitating the government developmental initiatives in the newly created district of Shamator through the local contractors. He challenged the SDCSU members to be proactive in the development of the area.

  • He urged the members to fully cooperate with each other and the district administration for equal opportunity of all the local members. Besides, he encouraged them to be vigil against table tenders, which is a violation of the government’s standing order and to insist on open tender for all contracts and supplies works in order to maintain transparency and accountability.

  • Meanwhile, the NCSU president also appreciated the presence of district administration and YTC leaders and expressed optimism that their support would strengthen the newly created unit of NCSU and its members in the district.

  • The deputy commissioner of Shamator, Chubatemjen, and YTC president, S Throngso Yimkhiung, also exhorted the officials and members of SDCSU and encouraged them to execute quality works for all round development of the newly created district.

  • The programme was chaired by Ariba, vice president of SDCSU, while Rev. Thsankiu, pastor of Shamator Town Baptist Church, said the invocation prayer and SDCSU president, Kiumuhean, delivered the welcome address.
