DIMAPUR — The Nagaland College Principals Association (NCPA) held its half yearly meeting at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, on Thursday.


In a press release, the association informed that Session I was chaired by Dr. Temjenwabang, Principal of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma.


The programme began with an invocation prayer by Dr. Fr. George Keduolhou Angami, Principal of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama.

The president of the association, Dr. Vitsosie Vupru, delivered the presidential address, extending his gratitude to the venue host, Kohima Science College, and active participation of all members.


He further reiterated the commitment of NCPA to work towards the uplift of quality higher education in the state.


The session consisted of the treasurer's report by Dr. Lichumo Enie, Principal of Unity College, Dimapur, followed by the general secretary’s report by Dr. Hewasa L. Khing, Principal of Tetso College.


The new NCPA office bearers and executive members for the tenure August 2025 - July 2027, were also announced by the nomination committee convenor Prof. Visakhonu Hibo.


The session was followed by business hour in which attending principals discussed various issues pertaining to higher education revolving around examinations, evaluation, student welfare and other important matters that require attention.


The NCPA is a body that comprises of government, private and autonomous college principals in Nagaland with the objective to work for the betterment of the collegiate education in Nagaland.


“It also functions as a bridge to all agencies in the domain of higher education such as Nagaland University, the Govt. of Nagaland, other relevant agencies and NGO’s, in bringing about development and a congenial environment among all stakeholders of Higher education,” the release stated.


The new NCPA office bearers for the tenure August 2025 - July 2027 are: President - Dr. Vitsosie Vupru, Principal, Kohima Government College; Vice President - Dr. Gopal Chetri, Principal, Sazolie College, Jotsoma; General Secretary - Dr. Hewasa L. Khing, Principal, Tetso College, Chümoukedima; Joint Secretary - Dr. Phyobenthung, Principal, Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire; Treasurer - Dr. Zokho Venuh, Principal, Capital College, Kohima


The executive members include Dr. T. Tiakaba Jamir, Dr. Imtiwati Jamir, Dr. Fr. George Keduolhou Angami; Dr. Santosh Kumar; Dr. Bweyhunle Khing; Dr. Lichumo Enie, and Dr. Fr. Francis Cheerangal.
