In an extensive technical session, Prof. Sinha underscored that research output is no longer optional but a necessity for elevating Nagaland’s higher education scenario.
His keynote address provided deep insights into navigating global citation databases like Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus, identifying different types of journals and avoiding predatory journals that undermine academic integrity, and specific responsibilities of administrators in supporting faculty research and publication.
Dr. Hewasa L Khing, general secretary of NCPA and Principal of Tetso College, chaired the formal proceedings.
In his welcome address, Dr. Vitsosie Vüprü, president of NCPA and Principal of Kohima College, highlighted the association’s pivotal role as a bridge between HEIs and Nagaland University.
He urged fellow principals to leverage the NCPA platform for collective advocacy and professional support, ensuring that the challenges of Nagaland’s academic sector are met with unified solutions.
The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Phyobenthung, joint secretary of NCPA and Principal of Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire.
Following a networking lunch, the NCPA transitioned into a business hour.
