Nagaland Health Protection Society discontinues emergency approval for CMHIS General Category beneficiaries and tightens registration rules for single-member households
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS) has discontinued the provision for emergency approval under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) General Category (GC), while retaining the facility for beneficiaries under the Employee and Pensioner Category (EP).
According to the DIPR, the NHPS issued an office memorandum on October 31, where it also restricted registration of single-member households under both the General Category and Employee and Pensioner Category.
Under the revised guidelines, registration of single-member households shall not ordinarily be permitted. However, where an individual is the sole member of a household, registration may be considered upon submission of an affidavit sworn before a notary public or magistrate.
The affidavit must be based on a declaration issued by the chairman of the village council, ward chairman or gaon bura (GB), as applicable. Applicants are required to upload the affidavit at the time of registration for verification and approval.
The revised provisions came into effect from the date of issue of the memorandum.
