DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio arrived at Jindal Vijayanagar Airport on Friday to begin a two-day official visit to Karnataka, hosted by the JSW Group.
A press release informed that the visit aims to foster collaborations in sports development, industrial growth, and cultural exchange.
Upon arrival, Rio and his delegation were received by the JSW leadership and representatives of the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS).

The CM was accompanied by Abu Metha, Advisor to the CM, Chairman of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), and Vice President of the Athletics Federation of India; Rusemtong Longkumer, Public Relations Officer to the CM; Kechangulie Rio, President, Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA); Benei M Lamthiu, MLA and Chairman of the Nagaland Super League (NSL); Neibou Sekhose, Executive Member, All India Football Federation (AIFF), and President, Nagaland Football Association (NFA); Kethosituo Sekhose, Director, Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS); Kuputo Shohe, Chairman, Nagaland State Mineral Development Corporation (NSMDC), and Joint Secretary, Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA); and V Hibo, Officer on Special Duty (Security).
During the visit, the delegation will hold strategic discussions with JSW and IIS leadership on potential developmental partnerships; observe high-performance training sessions involving Nagaland athletes at IIS; interact with Olympians and national-level athletes; and tour key JSW facilities including the Vijayanagar Steel Plant and Kaladham cultural centre.
A major highlight of the visit will be the chief minister’s interaction with the Nagaland Super League (NSL) youth team, currently undergoing advanced training at IIS.
