KOHIMA — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, along with a 40-member delegation, arrived in Moscow on Saturday to participate in the ongoing 9-day ‘Bharat Utsav’ at Manezhnaya Square, near the Kremlin.
The Embassy of India in Russia shared on social media platform X (@IndEmbMoscow) that Deputy Chief of Mission Nikhilesh Giri welcomed the Nagaland chief minister upon arrival.
Nagaland is among the key participating states in the cultural festival, represented by a delegation comprising tourism officials, artistes, and artisans.
The event, which began on July 5 and will conclude on July 13, is jointly organised by the Embassy of India in Moscow and the Moscow City Tourism Committee.
‘Bharat Utsav’ aims to showcase India’s diverse cultural heritage through performances, masterclasses, and interactive sessions. Nagaland’s participation is expected to highlight the state’s unique traditions, handloom crafts, and indigenous art forms on an international platform.
Highly placed sources informed that Rio is accompanied by Minister for Tourism and Higher Education Temjen Imna Along, Advisor for Industries and Commerce Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor to Chief Minister and Chairman of IDAN Abu Metha, among others.
The delegation is scheduled to remain in Russia until July 18.
