Nagaland braces for thunderstorms and strong winds

  • DIMAPUR — The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for Nagaland, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong surface winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places across several districts over the next few days.

  • According to the district-level forecast, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are likely to impact Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, Peren, Wokha, Zunheboto, Mon, Longleng, Tuensang, and Kiphire on Tuesday. Residents have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions.

  • The weather pattern for the next few days (April 29 to May 2) shows a continuation of thunderstorms with lightning in isolated places across most districts, excluding Kiphire, Phek, and Tuensang districts.
