Nagaland Board of School Education declares exam dates

  • DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has released the examination routine for Phase I of Class 8 and 9 final examinations, as well as the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) compartmental and improvement examinations for 2025.

  • According to a notification issued by the board, these examinations will be held as per the schedules outlined below and will not be rescheduled in the event of unforeseen holidays. Any changes, including cancellations or postponements, will be officially announced through the NBSE website: www.nbsenl.edu.in.

  • Phase I examination routine for Class 8 (9 am–10:30 am)

  • June 9, Monday – Social Sciences
  • June 11, Wednesday – Science
  • June 13, Friday – English
  • June 16, Monday – Mathematics
  • June 18, Wednesday – Grammar
  • June 20, Friday – Hindi

  • Schools will internally conduct exams for Nagaland Heritage Studies (English and Local Dialect), Life Skill Education, and General Knowledge. All private schools registered with NBSE are required to follow the same schedule.

  • Students must pass both Phase I and Phase II, with schools directed to hold retests for those who do not qualify. Consolidated results must be submitted to the board via the portal in December 2025.

  • Phase I examination routine for Class 9 (9 am–10:30 am)

  • June 9, Monday – Social Sciences
  • June 11, Wednesday – Science
  • June 13, Friday – English
  • June 16, Monday – Mathematics
  • June 18, Wednesday – Second Language (Alternative English/Ao/Bengali/Hindi/Lotha/Sumi (Sütsah)/Tenyidie)
  • June 20, Friday – Sixth Subjects (BK and Accountancy/Environmental Education/FIT/Music); Vocational Subjects

  • Vocational subject exams (9–10 am) will also be conducted for courses such as Agriculture, Automotive, Beauty and Wellness, Electronics, ITeS, Multi-Skill Foundation Course, Plumbing, Retail, and Tourism and Hospitality.

  • HSLC compartmental and improvement exam routine (9 am–12 noon and 1–4 pm)

  • June 6, Friday – Science
  • June 10, Tuesday – Social Science
  • June 12, Thursday – English
  • June 17, Tuesday – Mathematics A/Mathematics B
  • June 19, Thursday – Second Language (Alternative English, Ao, Bengali, Hindi, Lotha, Sumi (Sütsah), Tenyidie); Sixth Subjects (BK and Accountancy, Environmental Education, FIT, Home Science, Music); Vocational Subjects.

  • Vocational subjects (1–3 pm) include Agriculture, Automotive, Beauty and Wellness, Electronics, ITeS, Multi-Skill Foundation Course, Plumbing, Retail, and Tourism and Hospitality.

  • HSSLC compartmental and improvement exam routine (9 am–12 noon and 1–4 pm)

  • June 6, Friday – Political Science/Chemistry/FBM; Geography/Entrepreneurship/Music
  • June 10, Tuesday – Sociology/Business Studies/Mathematics; Second Language (Alternative English, Ao, Bengali, Hindi, Lotha, Sumi (Sütsah), Tenyidie)
  • June 12, Thursday – Education/Psychology; English
  • June 17, Tuesday – History/Accountancy/Physics; Computer Science/Informatics Practices; Vocational Subjects
  • June 19, Thursday – Economics/Biology; Philosophy/FMM

  • Vocational subject exams (1–3 pm) include Agriculture, Automotive, Beauty and Wellness, Electronics, Healthcare, ITeS, Retail, and Tourism and Hospitality.

  • The NBSE has reiterated that examination dates are fixed and will not be altered due to unforeseen holidays. Any changes will be notified through official channels.
