Nagaland BJP organises congratulatory programme to celebrate election of Nitin Nabin as new BJP president.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a congratulatory programme at the BJP office in Dimapur on Tuesday to celebrate the election of Nitin Nabin as the 12th national president of the BJP.
Addressing the event as the guest speaker, Minister for PHED and Cooperation Jacob Zhimomi said the gathering marks a moment of joy for the BJP family across the country, as Nagaland joins nationwide celebrations following Nitin Nabin’s election as the new BJP president.
The minister said that the party is fortunate to have a young and dynamic leader at the helm, noting that Nabin, in his mid-40s, is expected to bring a fresh style of functioning to the organisation.
Highlighting his political journey, Zhimomi said Nabin hails from Bihar and has been elected to the Bihar Vidhan Sabha for five consecutive terms since 2006 and is currently serving as a cabinet minister in the Bihar government.

He also said that the new party president possesses rich experience across social and organisational spheres, having served as president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha from 2006 to 2016 and later as BJP state president of Bihar.
He added that with a leader from eastern India at the national helm, the party expects renewed momentum in the eastern and north-eastern regions, including West Bengal and Nagaland.
Zhimomi also said that the BJP in Nagaland aims to be the top party in the state. With PM Narendra Modi’s guidance, the party hopes to bring development and prosperity to Nagaland and other north-eastern states.
He also mentioned that Dimapur district would play a crucial role in strengthening the BJP in the state and lauded the efforts of BJP councillors and workers in Dimapur and urged them to maintain the momentum so it could be replicated across other districts.
Furthermore, he said growth comes through patience, dedication, and collective effort, assuring that sincere workers would be duly rewarded.
While interacting with media persons following the programme, Zhimomi expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects in states facing upcoming elections, including West Bengal, saying the new president's grassroots experience would further strengthen the organisation.
On the ED investigation related to the Guwahati High Court bench complex Kohima, he said the issue hadn't been discussed by the state cabinet and an official clarification would be issued by the state government spokesperson.
Earlier in the programme, the invocation prayer was offered by BJYMM Dimapur district vice president Azatoli Zhimo, while welcome address was delivered by BJP Mahila Morcha state president Tsachola Rothrong, and vote of thanks was proposed by BJP state spokesperson Bendangyanger.
Similar programme was also held at the State BJP head office, Kohima, to celebrate the appointment of the new BJP national president. The event was attended by state office bearers and various morchas of the party.
State president of ST Morcha Thomas Magh congratulated Nitin Nabin on his appointment as BJP national president, saying that he’ll carry forward PM Narendra Modi's vision.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by state mahila morcha general secretary, Chubala Janquinker, invocation prayer was offered by state print media convenor, Nini Cheng, while vote of thanks was delivered by state office secretary, Keviphonuo Ngukha.
