Two Nagaland Athletics Association officials complete the Athletics Federation of India Starters’ Course at NSNIS Patiala to enhance officiating standards in the state.

DIMAPUR — Two officials nominated by the Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA) participated in the Starters’ Course organised by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) from January 14 to the 17th at the SAI Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Patiala.
The officials were B Bongshet Phom and Tokuho Sumi. The course was conducted under the guidance of Allan Bell from the United Kingdom, an internationally renowned starter from the World Athletics Starters Panel, stated an update.

Tokuho Sumi is a qualified Federation State Technical Official (FSTO) under the Athletics Federation of India, holds a Bachelor of Physical Education, and is presently working as an athletics coach. B Bongshet Phom is a qualified District Technical Official (DTO) under the Athletics Federation of India and is currently serving as a physical education teacher. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and has also completed a Certificate in Athletics from NSNIS, Kolkata.
Mhonsao Ngullie, honorary secretary, NAA, stated that the Starters’ Course aims to strengthen the technical capacity of athletics officials and ensure alignment with national and international officiating standards.
