WOKHA/TSEMINYU — The Nagaland Assembly of God Council (NAGC) women’s ministry leadership seminar commenced on Tuesday at Tseminyu Town AG Church.
The two-day event is hosted by the Tseminyu section women’s ministry. A total of 148 women leaders from five sections — Tseminyu, Kohima, Wokha, Phek, and Dimapur —are attending the seminar, which is centred on the theme ‘Enlarge the place of your tent.’
Day one featured three sessions. Dr. Nighatoli P Achumi from the Pastoral Council, IICC, led the first two sessions, speaking on ‘Leading/mentoring with grace and authority’ and ‘Balancing ministry, family, and personal calling.’

In first message, Dr. Achumi emphasised the importance of leading with grace—through compassion, empathy, forgiveness, patience, and encouragement.
She challenged participants to reflect on whether they embody these qualities in their leadership roles. On the topic of authority, she acknowledged that many women feel uncomfortable asserting it, yet stressed its necessity in setting vision, making decisions, and stewarding responsibilities.
She advocated for a balanced approach, combining grace and authority as foundational to effective leadership.
Dr. Achumi also encouraged personal assessment, advising leaders to correct one another privately and praise publicly, while grounding their leadership in gospel values.
In the second session, she urged participants to balance ministry with family and personal calling. She emphasised glorifying God in all roles, effective time management, and setting priorities to maintain harmony between spiritual service and personal responsibilities.
The third session was led by Vikono Khro, who spoke on ‘Servant leadership —God’s model for ministry.’ She defined a leader as one who leads, decides, and takes responsibility, but reminded that in God’s kingdom, leadership is rooted in humility and selfless service.
“Our objective in ministry is to build the kingdom of God,” she said, adding, “We are servants of God, and God is our master.” She encouraged leaders to model patience, live by example, and train others to become future leaders.
The day concluded with an evening gospel service, where Pastor Obed Kath, MSG coordinator of Tseminyu, shared the Word of God based on the seminar’s theme.
On October 1, the seminar will continue with sessions led by Vikono Khro and Kekhriezhalie Khro, NAGC coordinator, who will speak on ‘The beauty that lasts: Fearing the Lord’ and ‘Trusting God even when life doesn’t make sense,’ respectively.
