DIMAPUR — The organising committee for the Dr. Talimeren Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship 2025 (Tier-2) met officials of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) in Chümoukedima on Wednesday to review preparations for the tournament, which begins on November 22 at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium.
According to a press release, the meeting examined venue readiness, team arrangements, match logistics, accommodation, medical support and technical requirements. Both sides noted the progress made so far and discussed steps to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
Officials from the AIFF also reviewed technical components such as officiating arrangements, match schedules, equipment and on-field operations. They assured full cooperation during the championship and offered guidance to align the event with national standards for age-group tournaments.

The organising committee briefed the visiting officials on preparations being undertaken by the state government through its sub-committees, including security, transport, hospitality, media coordination and ceremonial programmes.
With 13 teams set to participate, the committee said Nagaland was prepared to host the championship for the first time, adding that the event provides an opportunity to promote women’s football and honour Dr. Talimeren Ao, India’s first Olympic football captain.
Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination in the days leading up to the opening match, it stated.
