A four-member Naga wrestling team will represent India at the UWW Asian Belt Wrestling Championship 2026 in Kyrgyzstan.

DIMAPUR — A four-member Naga wrestling team will represent the Indian belt wrestling team under the aegis of the All India Traditional Wrestling and Pankration Federation (AITWPF) in the UWW Asian Belt Wrestling Championship 2026.
According to an update, the championship will be held on April 13 and 14 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The team is led by Vivolie Kezo, President of the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA), alongside prominent Naga wrestlers Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü (100+ kg category, freestyle and classic), Venuzo Dawhuo (below 100 kg category, freestyle and classic), and Nlumrai Hegwang (below 80 kg category, freestyle).
The team departed from Dimapur on Saturday and will return on April 17.

The NWA expressed gratitude to Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, and the Department of Tourism for sponsoring the team.
The NWA also expressed its gratitude to the minister for taking the initiative to promote Naga wrestling and for taking necessary steps to include Naga wrestling at the World Nomad Games 2026, which will be held in the later part of the year in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The association appealed to all the wrestling fraternity and the general public to support and uphold the team for the championship.
