DIMAPUR — The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has strongly condemned the attack on Naga civilians at TM-Kasom village along National Highway 202, which claimed the lives of two individuals on April 18.
The deceased were identified as Chinaoshang Shokwungnao of Tashar village and Yaruingam Vashum of Kharasom village in the Ukhrul district.
In a press statement, the NSF termed the act of violence against unarmed civilians a direct assault on the dignity, safety, and inherent rights of the Naga people to live in peace within their own homeland, as well as a direct existential threat.
The federation conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and stood in solidarity with them, stating that the loss of two innocent lives is a collective loss to the Naga nation.

In light of the incident, the federation unequivocally demanded that the concerned authorities initiate immediate, impartial, and stringent action against the perpetrators of the crime. It cautioned that any failure or delay in delivering justice would be viewed as a grave abdication of responsibility.
Further, the federation issued a stern warning that any form of aggression, intimidation, or violence against the Naga people will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
"The patience of the Naga people must not be mistaken for weakness. Any recurrence of such acts will invite strong and resolute response from the Federation and the Naga public at large," the statement read.
In solidarity with the resolutions adopted by Naga civil bodies, the NSF informed that a candlelight vigil will be held on April 23 at 6:30 pm at the NSF Oking in Kohima to honour the departed souls and collectively reaffirm their commitment to justice and existential rights.
The federation also reaffirmed its commitment to stand at the forefront and spare no expense in defending the collective interest of the Naga homeland.
