DIMAPUR — The much-anticipated Tribe Fighting Championship 2 kicked off with a bang at Zone Niathu by The Park, Chümoukedima, treating a jam-packed crowd to a night of explosive bouts, intense finishes, and local dominance inside the cage.
In the main event, Nagaland’s Neitso Angami edged out Gurtej Singh of Punjab in a hard-fought battle, securing victory via split decision. The co-main event saw another Naga fighter, Limasunep Imchen, overpower Sandeep Baghel from Telangana with a commanding unanimous decision win.
Headliners
The opening round was evenly contested, with both fighters trading punches and takedowns. The second round saw heavier exchanges, including damaging leg kicks from both sides.
In the final round, Gurtej scored a takedown and landed ground-and-pound strikes, but Neitso’s earlier control and striking precision earned him a razor-thin split-decision victory.

In the co-main event, Limasunep dominated from start to finish, taking Sandeep to the mat early and landing sharp elbows from top position.
Maintaining control in all three rounds, he sealed a clear unanimous decision win through superior grappling and ground control.
In the other clashes Aboto Ayemi, after a cautious start, dropped his opponent Dwangliana (Mizoram) in Round 2 with a powerful punch, followed by ground strikes.
He then locked in a rear-naked choke, forcing a tap at 3:31 minutes into the second round.
In the Pro K1 bout, Vihuto Sema came out aggressive against Sumlalril Halam (Tripura), dominating with rapid punches in Round 1.
In Round 2, a heavy knee to the body floored Sumlalril, prompting the referee to stop the fight at 1:30. Sema won via TKO.
The bout between Goodwin Ningshen (Manipur) vs Donbester Syemlieh (Meghalaya) started with intense grappling along the cage.
In Round 2, Goodwin dropped his opponent with a clean punch, but Syemlieh was saved by the bell. Just 18 seconds into the final round, Goodwin landed a spectacular jumping knee knockout—the first KO of the night.
Amateur category
Petevino Suokhrie (Nagaland) controlled the bout against Daniella Mylliemngap (Meghalaya) with sharper punches and effective takedowns to earn a unanimous decision victory.
In amateur K1, Hisato Ayemi (Nagaland) and Fleming Thanglen (Manipur) were involved in a slugfest. Hisato dropped his opponent twice with clean right hands.
Fleming was unable to continue after a second knockdown at 2:58 of Round 2, giving Hisato a TKO win.
In another clash, Thangu Mili wowed the crowd with a lift-and-slam takedown of Imkummendang in Round 2. He maintained top control through the third to secure a unanimous decision victory.
Niathu run results
In the men’s 13K Niathu Run, Ajay Patel claimed first place, followed by Sandeep Yadav, Kuldeep, N Wangnao, and Shishpal Bhumra.
In the women’s 13K Niathu Run, Tsuchoi T took first place, ahead of Akanksha Singh, Songmo P, Makakmayum Minar, and Niansai.
3x3 basketball
In the men’s final, TMB (Nagaland) edged out Diphu Titans (Assam) 17–16 in overtime. Chumben Humtsoe of TMB (Kohima) was named Most Valuable Player.
In the women’s final, Team ABC (B) from Kohima defeated SYM Ignite (Meghalaya) 9–7 to lift the title. Medosevino of Team ABC (B) was awarded Most Valuable Player.
