WOKHA — Myingthungo Kikon has been elected chairperson of the Wokha Town Council (WTC) following a council election held on Friday.
Kikon, a member of the Naga People’s Front, had contested and won the town council election from Ward No. 3 (Airfield).
He had initially contested the town council elections on a Nationalist Congress Party ticket. The party later aligned with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, which subsequently merged with the NPF.

Kikon was elected to the post following the demise of former WTC chairperson Khozamo Murry on December 16, 2025.
The election process was administered by the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, along with the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Wokha.
