Class 10 students from Government Higher Secondary School Peren visited the School of Agricultural Sciences, Nagaland University Medziphema campus.

DIMAPUR — Class 10 students undertaking the Multi Skill Foundation course from Government Higher Secondary School, Peren district, visited the School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS), Nagaland University, Medziphema campus, on August 29.
According to an update, during their visit, the students explored various departments, museums, libraries, and farms.
At the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) Honey Bee and Pollinators, they were introduced to the Indian honey bee, European honey bee, and stingless bee along with some common pollinators.

Students of Experiential Learning, Sericulture Unit, highlighted and showcased the rearing techniques of eri silkworms, its scope, limitations, and market value. The production technologies of some crops under the Instructional-cum-Research Farm were highlighted along with some farming techniques.
At the Insect Museum, Department of Entomology, the students were shown different insect pests, beneficial insects, and the roles played by insects in the ecosystem.
Students also visited the Plant Disease Museum, Department of Plant Pathology, where they were introduced to various plant diseases commonly observed in locally grown crops.
Later, the students were taken to the SAS Museum, followed by a visit to the SAS Library.
