DIMAPUR — Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, and Chairperson of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), S Supongmeren Jamir, chaired his first DISHA meeting held at the DC conference hall, Peren, on Wednesday.

The meeting was convened to review the progress and implementation status of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and development projects across departments in the district, according to a DIPR report.

Jamir, in his address, emphasised the need to bring in central funds that have yet to reach the district and assured efforts to mobilise additional resources. He called for effective implementation of centrally sponsored schemes to ensure that development benefits reach the grassroots.

Describing DISHA as a key platform for addressing developmental challenges, Jamir urged officials to take full ownership of their responsibilities. He also stated that he would propose to the state DISHA chairperson the idea of introducing inter-district competition among DISHA committees to improve performance.
