DIMAPUR — The Mon district administration, headed by Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak hosted the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at the DC’s conference hall on Thursday.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, S Phangnon Konyak, in the presence of the members of DISHA.
After a brief introduction from the deputy commissioner and the chairperson, the members of DISHA, viz. Rural Development, PWD (R & B), CMO, DAO, EE (Power), PHE and DUO, gave their respective presentations on the various CSS and other activities/schemes executed by them in the district.

During the meeting, several key issues were presented and discussed. These included the status of lead banks’ awareness campaigns, fund routing under PMAY-G and PMAY-HFA -U, screening camps for TB, Japanese Encephalitis, and sickle cell anemia, shortage of medical staff in Mon district, the progress of road projects by the PWD (R&B) department, the need for smart metering, and challenges in implementing Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes.
While the chairman appreciated certain achievements, such as 100% Aadhaar coverage in two RD blocks and notable progress under JJM, she expressed concern over the absence of heads of departments (HODs) during the meeting and directed them to submit reasons for their absenteeism.
