DIMAPUR — Lok Sabha MP, S Supongmeren Jamir, on November 22, launched and distributed machinery, tools, and equipment to women self-help groups (SHGs) at Longsa village, Mokokchung district, under the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Vikas Mission (PMJVM) sponsored by TRIFED, Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
The programme was organised by the Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) with the aim of promoting beekeeping, which will economically sustain the villagers and benefit the environment as well, an update stated.

Jamir, in his speech, encouraged the SHG members to sincerely take on the project and grow with it and not let it die down, as seen in many cases. He also urged the village council to guide and support the womenfolk in their endeavour.
Agriculture Officer and team member of NBHM, Temjenchuba Kichu, mentioned that produce from Nagaland has a lot of market potential and that if the first phase goes successfully, there are many more benefits that can be availed through this mission.
