DIMAPUR — With the onset of the monsoon and persistent heavy rainfall in recent days, Niuland district authorities have issued an advisory urging residents to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and loss of life.
According to a DIPR report, all fishing activities have been strictly restricted along the rivers and streams in Niuland district.
All recreational and non-essential activities along the rivers, streams, and water bodies—such as swimming, picnicking, gathering, and resource collection—have been restricted and should be avoided during the rainy season due to the risk of flash floods and rising water levels.
Residents living near riverbanks, water bodies, and low-lying areas have been advised to stay vigilant and evacuate to higher or safer areas in case of an increase in water level.

Also, it maintained that heavy rainfall and sudden flooding pose significant risks to life, livestock, and property.
All citizens have been requested to follow safety precautions and report to the respective Area Administrative Officers through the concerned village council in cases of loss of life and property.
