Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority reports widespread monsoon damage across districts, with floods and landslides affecting infrastructure and homes.

DIMAPUR — In the wake of havoc wrought by monsoon rain across the state, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has release a damage assessment report.
In a press release issued on Monday, the NSDMA reported extensive damage to homes, roads, bridges, breast walls, paddy fields, and jhum cultivation areas.
Low-lying districts have been hit particularly hard, with rivers overflowing and flash floods inundating numerous areas.
In Dimapur district, floodwaters affected several localities including SM colony, Ragailong, Namgalong, Super Market, K Sachu colony, Ekhyoyan village, Walford colony, and Model colony in Purana Bazaar.
Relief camps have been set up by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), and personnel from the Home Guards, Civil Defence, and State Disaster Response Force are actively engaged in search and rescue operations.
Chümoukedima district reported similar scenes of flooding in Tenyiphe, Chekiye, Neiphrolie, and Singrijan villages, as well as in Sovima, Thilixu, Naga United village, and near the DC office in Ward 10. The area also witnessed damage to infrastructure due to continuous rainfall.
In Niuland district, villages such as Kuhuboto, New Showuba, Nizhevi, Lotovi, Suhoi, Nihokhu, Hovishe, Ghokuto, Toshiho, Khehoyi, and Anato were affected by flooding.

Three electrocuted as floods batter Dimapur, Niuland, and Chümoukedima
In the state capital Kohima, a retaining wall below the Civil Secretariat collapsed, damaging two vehicles and blocking access to several government offices. Urban flooding was also reported from other areas of the town.
A massive landslide at Yongam village on July 4 completely cut off road connectivity between Mon and Longleng districts.
In Wokha district, flash floods in Chanka village destroyed paddy fields, while Mokokchung district reported landslides at Changki and Longkong villages, disrupting the main road and water supply pipelines.
Tuensang district experienced severe disruptions with the National Highway-202 cut off at Chare Town. The DDMA Tuensang assisted in transporting stranded and ill passengers.
Road access from Chare to Mokokchung has been blocked due to multiple landslides. Authorities also warned that the Bailey bridge linking the two areas is at risk of collapse due to strong river currents.
