Mon DPDB recommends school upgradation and discusses preparations for Mon town platinum jubilee and Reform Utsav.

DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the Mon District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held at the deputy commissioner’s conference hall in Mon on Tuesday, presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Vice Chairman of DPDB Wennyei Konyak.
According to a DIPR report, following a review of the previous meeting minutes, the board deliberated on and recommended several proposals to the concerned departments for final approval and consideration.
The recommendations included the upgradation of Government Primary School Papong to a middle school, a change of school nomenclature from Wangka School to Cornerstone High School in Aboi, and the society registrations of Chingtan Community Enterprise and Livelihood Society as well as Goodwill Angjong Welfare Society.
The DC also deliberated on the Reform Utsav, asserting that the initiative aims to institutionalise citizen participation in governance. He highlighted the nodal officer and members of the Mon District Level Committee for Reform Utsav, urging the district nodal officer to formulate a plan for district-level activities and calling upon all members to extend active cooperation.

The house further discussed the celebration of the platinum jubilee of Mon town. Highlighting the various committees constituted for the event, the DC urged all committees to participate sincerely to celebrate the jubilee successfully.
He also briefed the members on the PM RAHAT Scheme during the meeting.
