Mon DPDB approved proposals for an Arts stream at New Model College, a primary school in Longwa, a road in Tobu, and LADP schemes for 2026–27.

DIMAPUR — The Mon District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on Thursday at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall under the chairmanship of the newly appointed DPDB chairman, W Chingang Konyak, Advisor for Geology & Mining and DUDA.
According to a DIPR report, Chingang appealed to all officers and board members to extend their full cooperation in ensuring the effective implementation of government schemes and policies across the district.
He also urged members to attend DPDB meetings regularly and propose innovative initiatives for the overall development of Mon district.
During the meeting, the chairman presented awards to meritorious Class 10 and Class 12 students from Mon district in recognition of their academic achievements.
On behalf of the board, Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Wennyei Konyak, welcomed the new chairman and assured him of the administration's full cooperation in advancing the district's development under his leadership.

The meeting began with a review of the minutes of the previous meeting, followed by discussions on new agenda items.
After detailed deliberations, the board approved and recommended proposals for the introduction of an Arts stream at New Model College, Wakching, the establishment of a primary school at Longwa village, and the construction of a 1.5-km PWD road in Tobu town.
The board also discussed and approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) schemes for the 2026–27 financial year, including iconic projects and skill development initiatives covering all nine Assembly constituencies in Mon district.
