Bhandari SDPDB reviewed power supply, approved LADP schemes, and discussed livestock insurance and Census 2027.

DIMAPUR — The Bhandari SDPDB meeting was held at the conference hall of the Summer House-cum-Guest House on Thursday under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Vice Chairman of the board, Longasen Lotha.
According to a DIPR report, Longasen deliberated on the issues of electricity and power supply in the sub-division. The house also discussed and approved the schemes under the Local Area Development Programme 2026-2027 for 40 Bhandari Assembly Constituency and recommended them to the government for final approval.
Presenting a report on the Livestock Insurance Scheme under Bhandari, VAS Quarantine Check Post, Merapani, Dr. Kikali G Sumi informed the house that surveillance and monitoring activities for animal care and awareness programmes on the scheme were successfully conducted within the Bhandari sub-division in June.
The programme was conducted to encourage farmers to adopt scientific livestock management for profitable livestock farming and to practise biosecurity measures to limit economic losses associated with disease outbreaks. She also highlighted the number of livestock insured under the National Livestock Mission Scheme.

Sub-Divisional Officer (Roads and Bridges), Public Works Department, Elithung Ovung appraised the house that construction work on the Nagaland Foothill Road has been officially completed, except for some rectification work in some patches, including bridge work, approach slab, toe wall, and river apron works, which are currently in progress.
Longasen lauded the Census 2027 officials who have been engaged in carrying out the census exercise within the Bhandari sub-division and further urged them to ensure no eligible citizen is left out during enumeration. He also urged the officers based under the Bhandari sub-division to continuously support the census exercise for a successful and accurate enumeration.
