Mokokchung district wins overall championship at the State Jamborette organised by Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides.

DIMAPUR — The Mokokchung district contingent emerged as the overall champion at the State Jamborette organised by the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides from October 6 to the 10th at STC, Nerhema, Kohima district.
The valedictory programme was held on October 9, with Dr. Kekhriehoulie Yhome, Advisor for School Education and Vice-Patron (Honorary) of the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides, attending as the special guest, according to a DIPR report.
Dr. Yhome, a recipient of the Rajya Scout award, the highest state-level award for Scouts, and a trained Scout Master, urged participants from the state's 10 districts to encourage greater enrolment of boys in Scouts and girls in Guides.
He also called for the State Jamborette to be organised more frequently to motivate young people to join the movement, develop their scouting skills and participate in national and international events.

The jamborette featured 11 competitions, including folk song, folk dance, quiz, colour party, district exhibition, food plaza, pageant show, campcraft, district gate and pioneering project.
Other activities, including morning BP exercises, friendship games and indigenous games, were organised to encourage interaction, cultural exchange and appreciation of diversity among participants. The Zunheboto Scouts and Guides presented a folk dance during the programme.
The event concluded with the lowering of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and Jamborette flags, accompanied by the beating of the retreat by the Hauyang Choba Pipe Band.
Earlier, VK Sahu, State Commissioner (Scout), delivered the welcome address.
