- DIMAPUR — The
Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly
meeting-cum-introduction of new chairman and new deputy commissioner on
Wednesday held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office in
Mokokchung town.
- Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and outgoing
DPDB chairman, Sharingain Longkumer, welcomed the incoming the new DPDB
chairman and MLA, Nuklutoshi. He also thanked the DPDB members for all the
support and co-operation shown to him during his tenure.
- Speaking at the meeting, the new chairman, Nuklutoshi, has
appreciated the outgoing DPDB chairman for the exemplary works done in the
district during his tenure. He assured to give his best for the development of
the district and appealed to all the members to cooperate and to support him in
his new assignment, stated a DIPR report.

- On behalf of the district administration, the SDO HQ
reported that Mokokchung was the only district in the state which does not have
a sardar jurisdiction, which is needed for effective administration.
- In this regard, Sharingain Longkumer has asked to make a
comprehensive and comparative report to give clarity and to avoid
misconception, while Nuklutoshi asked the concerned authority to present the
report in the coming DPDB meeting.
- In the meeting, registration of Mongsanger Semchir Telongjem
Society was approved and forwarded to the government for further action.
