DIMAPUR — Model Christian College in Kohima held its 11th students’ council general election on Saturday at the college auditorium, electing student representatives for the 2025–2026 academic session.
According to an update, the programme began with a common platform session where all contesting candidates presented their vision and objectives.
This was followed by an interactive Q&A segment, during which students posed questions and raised concerns, allowing candidates to clarify their positions and engage meaningfully with the electorate. Polling booths were set up in designated classrooms, ensuring a smooth and confidential voting process.

After the counting of votes, the students were declared elected. The declaration of results was followed by an oath-taking ceremony led by the principal of the college and a closing prayer by Jamkhanmoi Tombing, head of department, Education.
The new team comprises Shilumoa Longkumer (president), Pangyen Roumon (vice president), Kupuli V (general secretary), Temlei C Konyak (games and sports secretary), Menguzenuo Rio (joint games and sports secretary), Kezia Bishukarma (women coordinator), Onusalu Puro (information and publicity secretary), Hamdan (cultural secretary), Senjanbeni C Ngullie (literary secretary), and Tsuweng (treasurer).
