DIMAPUR — Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu on Monday encouraged the student leaders to be leaders of principle, integrity and ideology rather than power mongers.
The MLA was addressing the 34th general session of the Phekmi Collegiate Forum (PCF) at Phek village community hall, held on the theme ‘Higher & wiser for a stronger tomorrow.’
Stating that the legacy “we leave behind is more important than our present status and position,” Nienu said, “Therefore, we must create a legacy that will be loved, remembered and cherished forever.”
To do this, one needs to take decisions in the greater interest of Nagas in general, not for selfish ends or the interest of one’s tribe alone, he added.
As Christian, one should not choose convenience over obedience, enthusiasm over reverence, or favouritism and nepotism over rights, he said.
“Our intentions should be clear on what is right and deliver justice to the people we serve.”
He continued that the status and position we hold today will end anytime, “but our legacy will live on forever even after our death.”
Touching on the session’s theme, PCF president Veshe Chizo said “This theme calls upon us as a students and educated members of society to aspire not only for academic achievement, but also for greater wisdom rooted in values, discipline, faith and social responsibility.”

It also focuses on higher challenges to pursue excellence in education, skills and leadership, “while being wiser reminds us to walk with humility, integrity and fear of God,” he said.
Only when knowledge is guided by wisdom, can one truly contribute to building a better tomorrow for the community and society at large, Chizo said.
He affirmed that the PCF continues to uphold its role as a responsible intellectual body, committed to social, educational and spiritual development.
Stressing that the PCF must continue to be a platform that nurtures not only academically competent students, but also spiritually grounded, socially responsible and community-oriented leaders, he added, “Let us strive to uphold unity, moral integrity and a spirit of service.”
Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) president Vezuhu Keyho and Phek Village Council chairman Chivozo Soho also addressed the session.
The PCF report was highlighted by its general secretary Vephiyi Soho, while PCF statistical secretary Krove Hoshi presented the statistical report.
Presently, PCF has 2231 registered members.
Acknowledgement and felicitation was led by PCF joint secretary Nuvevo Venuh.
Review of resolutions was led by Kho-o H Keyho, while Rev. Vesito Venuh, pastor of Phek Village Baptist Church, pronounced prayer for the new team of executives and advisors for the tenure 2026-2028.
