DIMAPUR — Advisor of Land Resources department, G Ikuto Zhimomi addressed the 42nd biennial session of the Eastern Sumi Students' Union (ESSU) at Satami village, Aghunato sub-division in Zunheboto district, on January 10.
As the fifth MLA from 34-Aghunato Assembly Constituency in 62 years, he highlighted the contributions of numerous bureaucrats and officers from the area, naming several who have served in key positions across various departments and brought laurels to Aghunato, an update stated.
Zhimomi underscored the vast opportunities available in the government sector, pointing out thousands of vacancies waiting to be filled exclusively through competitive examinations.
He ruled out any backdoor entries or political appointments, ensuring a merit-based process for all. “Exams are open to everyone. If you aspire to become an officer or achieve greatness, study wholeheartedly,” he said, inspiring them to prepare diligently and seize these opportunities.
The advisor urged students to explore entrepreneurship for greater self-reliance, beyond government jobs.
Highlighting the state's employment challenges, he noted that Nagaland has approximately 70,000 registered unemployed individuals. “Adapt to systemic changes and become self-reliant,” he advised the gathering.
Zhimomi further drew attention to key state government initiatives supporting aspiring entrepreneurs and vulnerable citizens, including the Chief Minister's Micro Finance Scheme for business startups and the CM Health Insurance Scheme to aid the poor and needy.
