13 Contestants, Star-Studded Panel, High-Voltage Performances Await on July 22
MOKOKCHUNG — Glamour and purpose converge once again as Miss Mokokchung 2025 returns to the spotlight after a three-year hiatus, promising an evening of elegance, empowerment, and entertainment, Mokokchung, under the theme “Beyond Beauty” at Town Hall, Mokokchung on July 22.
Organized by Forerunners Mokokchung under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Art and Culture Council (MDCC), this year’s pageant will feature 13 poised and elegant young ladies vying for the coveted crown.
In a pre-event press conference held at Whispering Winds, Show Director Neitho Khamo said this year’s edition aims to offer something new to the audience.
“Miss Mokokchung is not just about competing for the crown. It’s about the journey, about growth, confidence and discovering true potential, the crown will go to one but the journey belong to all the contestants,” he said.
He also addressed a common misconception of pageantry. He said “Models and beauty queens are worlds apart. Even though the industry is back to back,”
“I always encouraged the girls to have purpose in life, beauty with a purpose should have a mission to bring a change to the society whether or not she holds the title,” he said.
The event boast an impressive jury lineup, including: Akshatha Das Meetinay, reigning Femina Miss India Kerala 2024; Chanchui Khayi, Femina Miss India Manipur 2024; Imlibenla Wati Nienu, Miss Nagaland 2012 & Miss Asia Pacific India 2016; Shyamanga Kashyap, Director, Miss Assam Organization & Talent Scout for Femina Miss India; Mele Pucho, President, Northeast Beauty Pageant Organization & BASN and Asola Ozukum, advocate for women empowerment and community development.

Contestants will compete across three rounds: Ethnic Wear cum Introductory Round; Designer Cocktail Round and Evening Gown Round where the fashion segment will be helmed by two standout designers: HM Hmingmawii, a rising name in the Northeast fashion circuit from Shillong and Manen Jamir, an award-winning designer and alumnus of IIFT Bangalore.
Behind the scenes, a dynamic team will powers the show, they included Neitho Khamo, Show Director, co-founder of Talent Foresight, Pewe U Tunyi Khamo, Groomer & Choreographer, founder of Talent Foresight and Lipokzulu Lemtur, Chief Tabulator & General Secretary of BASN.
The evening will feature electrifying performances by Moko Koza, award-winning rapper and folk-fusion icon, Mezanuo Ngukha, Kohima-based vocalist and music educator, Impang Jamir, frontman of Hailinator, Akum K. Jamir, model, content creator, and soulful singer, Lirosen Akum Nokdir, an 11-year-old musical prodigy from Mokokchung, Class of Music and lastly Mokokchung Dance Community to light up the stage with their signature energy.
In a moving Tribute Runway, past queens will grace the stage, celebrating the legacy of Miss Mokokchung: Jentiren Jamir, Miss Nagaland 2nd Runner-Up; Ayusang Jamir, Miss Mokokchung 2015 & Miss Diva Queen Nagaland; Jemtisungla Jamir, Miss Mokokchung 2013; Imsulemla, Miss Mokokchung & Miss Nagaland 2007; Akumnaro, Miss Mokokchung & Miss Nagaland 2006; Sashinungla Nathan, Miss Mokokchung 2005 2nd Runner-up and later 2nd Runner-up yet again at Miss Nagaland 2005 and Tiarenla Jamir, Miss Mokokchung & Miss Nagaland 2005, Miss Jatropha NE 2006.
This year, the organizers have shifted the event timeline from year-end to mid-year to give the winner more time for grooming and preparation, with the vision of launching the winner onto larger stages. “Our focus, to bring back the Miss Nagaland crown home,” said Sashinungla Nathan Patron of Forerunners Mokokchung.
The event kicks off at 6:00 PM.
