
Temjen Imna Along flagging off the buses for government
colleges in Kohima on May 21.
- DIMAPUR — In a
significant step towards improving higher education infrastructure in Nagaland,
five new college buses were flagged off during the meeting of principals of
government colleges held at the Directorate of Higher Education in Kohima on
May 21.
- The buses were handed over to Kohima Science College,
Jotsoma (Autonomous); Kohima College, Kohima; Dimapur Government College,
Dimapur; Phek Government College, Phek; and Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.
- The buses were flagged off by Temjen Imna Along, minister of
Higher Education and Tourism, in the presence of Sarita Yadav, secretary of
Higher and Technical Education (H&TE); Sentiyanger Pongen, additional
secretary of Higher Education; V Lovitoly Sema, Ex-officio director of Higher
Education; and other officers alongside principals from all government
colleges.

- An update from the department of Higher Education stated
that the initiative was aimed at providing students with safer and more
reliable transportation options.
- During the event, the minister expressed gratitude to the
chief minister of Nagaland, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, for his unwavering support in
advancing student welfare and higher education in the state. He also lauded the
proactive efforts of the Ex-officio director, V Lovitoly Sema, and the
department of Higher Education for successfully implementing the much-needed
initiative.
