Organisations in Kohima, Mokokchung and Wokha honoured HSLC and HSSLC achievers with awards and cash prizes.

KOHIMA/MOKOKCHUNG/WOKHA — Various organisations and unions on Saturday organised programmes in Kohima, Mokokchung and Wokha to felicitate meritorious students who excelled in the HSLC, HSSLC and other examinations.
Kohima: A total of 13 HSLC toppers from the Ao community were honoured with the NI Jamir Academic Excellence Award during its 20th edition held at Molu Ki, Kohima.

The award, an initiative of the Kohima Ongpangkong Telongjem (KOT), carries a citation and a cash prize of INR 10,000 each. The awards were presented by Advisor for Labour and Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer.
Congratulating the toppers, Longkumer said that excellence was not accidental, but the result of dedication, consistency and courage.
He observed that in today’s rapidly changing world, knowledge travels instantly, artificial intelligence is transforming industries, and technology is reshaping economies. While opportunities have increased, he said distractions and competition have also grown significantly.
The advisor stressed that academic excellence alone was not enough and urged the students to uphold values such as honesty, resilience, kindness, discipline and respect for others.
He further said that education should not disconnect students from their roots, but instead empower them to serve society and their people more effectively.

He also noted that NI Jamir was a man whose life reflected discipline, public service, and commitment to education and progress.
Among the highlights were Pastor KABA, Temjenmongba Sempo, who prayed for the toppers, and Supongliba, member of NI J Trust Board of Governors, who led the presentation of awards to the toppers.
Mokokchung: The 7th Asetkong Mungdang Yajen Aier Honorary Award & AKTM Excellency Award was held at Senden Salang, Süngratsü, Mokokchung district, on the theme “Reinvigorating teaching and learning.”

Among the awardees in the HSSLC category were Tirmen Jamir of Little Star Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, who secured Top 3 in the Science stream with 95.20 percent, and Ungnir L Kichu of Lima Aier Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, who secured Top 8 in the Science stream with 92 percent.
In the HSLC category, Retina Jamir of Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kohima, secured Top 16 with 95.33 percent.
The Yajen Aier Award also honoured best-performing students from Tzükong schools. Limaonger of GHS Longjang secured the Class 10 award with 73.33 percent, Aosanen of Clark Memorial Higher Secondary School, Impur, received the Class 9 award with 64.5 percent, while Sashimongla I Longkumer of GHS, Longjang, received the Class 8 award with 98.71 percent.
The AKTM Excellency Award was also presented to Tirmen Jamir, Ungnir L Kichu and Retina Jamir in recognition of their outstanding performance in the NBSE examinations. Recipients received INR 10,000 each along with certificates.
The Yajen Aier Honorary Award carries a cash prize of INR 20,000 along with citations for students securing top positions in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations. The award also recognises best-performing students from Asetkong schools in Classes 8, 9 and 10, besides honouring subject toppers and teachers from schools within the range.
Wokha: The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU), in collaboration with the Lotha Officers’ Association (LOA), felicitated HSLC and HSSLC achievers from the Lotha community at a programme held in Wokha.

Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao, additional director, Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the special guest of the event, expressed joy over the commendable performance of students and lauded the perseverance of teachers and parents in guiding their wards to bring laurels to the community.
Tsanglao reminded the students that academic achievement is only the beginning, stressing that education must go beyond scoring marks to include skills, character, and confidence.
Orenthung Lotha, president of LOA, exhorted the students to choose their careers wisely at the crossroads of Class X and XII.
During the programme, ten HSLC toppers and five HSSLC toppers, along with two Governor’s Awardees in MIL subjects from HSLC and HSSLC, as well as a Governor’s Award recipient from Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Wokha, were felicitated with citations and certificates by LSU and LOA.
The Lt. Thungjano Tsanglao Honorary Award for Lotha female achievers was presented to two HSLC rank holders (Rank 6) by Lankonsen Tsanglao, ADC Tamlu, on behalf of the family.
Certificates of appreciation were also handed to schools in Wokha district that achieved cent percent results.
