One-day training programmes on the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls were held in Meluri and Kiphire.
DIMAPUR — One-day training programmes on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls 2026 for booth-level officers (BLOs) and supervisors were conducted in Meluri and Kiphire on Tuesday.
Meluri: In Meluri, the training for the 20 Meluri Assembly Constituency was held at the DB's Court, the deputy commissioner's (DC) office, according to a DIPR report.
Addressing the gathering, DC Phuleshe K Yepthomi stated that BLOs may encounter many challenges and face considerable pressure during the conduct of the SIR and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, dedication, and impartiality.
He highlighted that BLOs must be well acquainted with the people in their assigned areas and carefully verify the identity and eligibility of every elector for inclusion in the electoral roll. He also stressed the importance of ensuring that every person enrolled genuinely exists and is eligible to be registered.
Appealing to all BLOs to carry out the exercise with utmost sincerity, the DC said the electoral roll should be free from errors, adding that "Clean electoral roll and clean elections" should be the guiding motto of the exercise.
EAC and AERO Meluri Pipfusa Pojar delivered an overview of the SIR, highlighting October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date for the revision of the electoral rolls.

Amo Thurr, Trainer of Trainers (ToT), EBRC, Meluri, and Master Trainer for BLOs, delivered a session on the roles and responsibilities of BLOs, supervisors, and BLOs, including the use of the BLO App. The training concluded with an interactive discussion and doubt-clearing session.
Kiphire: In Kiphire, a one-day training on SIR Phase III for all BLOs under the 59 Seyochung-Sitimi Assembly Constituency was held at the DC's conference hall.

Assistant Election Officer (AEO) Aben Yanthan, who chaired the programme, highlighted that the objectives of the training are to equip election officials with the knowledge and procedures required to carry out a comprehensive revision of electoral rolls and guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
He urged BLOs to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, impartiality, and diligence to ensure that every eligible citizen is enrolled.
Master Trainer Atingse, Graduate Teacher, led the training sessions, providing a detailed overview of the SIR process, its procedures, documentation requirements, and the roles and responsibilities of BLOs. Assistant Programmer Suliba T Sangtam also attended the programme.
During the training, officials highlighted the key objectives of the revision to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll and to enhance the accuracy and quality of voters’ data. The training concluded with an interactive session and was witnessed by 61 participants.
