DIMAPUR — Preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations are underway across Nagaland, with coordination meetings scheduled or held.
In Dimapur, a preparatory meeting was convened by the DC Dimapur to discuss the programme and allocation of responsibilities on Wednesday at the conference hall of the DC.
The meeting was chaired by Zakabo Rotokha, ADC, Dimapur. All administrative officers, heads of departments and other members and invitees attended the meeting and deliberated on the planning and execution of Republic Day celebrations.
The Zunheboto DPDB meeting deliberated on preparations for the upcoming celebrations in Zunheboto district, where roles and responsibilities of various departments were discussed to ensure smooth and coordinated observance of the national event.
In Kohima, a meeting has been scheduled to discuss the visitation of institutions and homes, along with the distribution of sweets at the Parade Ground, as part of the Republic Day celebrations.

According to a DIPR report, the meeting will be held on January 16 at 11am at the DC’s conference hall, Kohima.
The meeting aims to coordinate activities related to the Republic Day, with particular focus on community outreach initiatives and public participation.
In this connection, various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) based in Kohima have been requested to attend the meeting. The invited organisations include the Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union, Puliebadze Club, Lions Club, Royal Club, Classic Club, Rotary Club, Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima, Hindu Kalyan Samithi Kohima, Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland State Branch, Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kohima Masjid Committee, and the Nagaland Motorcycle Club.
The Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tening, has informed all heads of offices and heads of educational institutions that a coordination meeting is scheduled on January 16 at 12 noon at the conference hall, ADC Office, Tening, to discuss preparations for the upcoming Republic Day.
All concerned have been directed to attend the meeting. Heads of offices have also been instructed to submit a duly signed list of staff under their respective establishments.
