Maverick FC, Langsa Hill FC claim victories at Captain N Kenguruse MVC Football Tournament

KOHIMA — Maverick FC defeated A Yhome FC 4-0 on Thursday during the 9th edition of the Captain N Kenguruse MVC Football Tournament at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

The first goal was scored by Dongchanglen in the 31st minute, with A Yhome FC unable to equalise in the first half.

In the second half, Dongchanglen doubled his tally in the 64th minute, while Pangteih converted a late chance in the 80+1 minute, followed by Ratobe in the 80+3 minute, sealing a commanding victory for Maverick FC.

In the second match of the day between Adroit Boys Sechu Zubza and Langsa Hill FC, which was also the first quarter-final of the tournament, Langsa Hill FC emerged victorious with a 2-1 win after a fierce contest.

Adroit Boys FC scored early in the 2nd minute through Nisede, but Langsa Hill FC equalised in the 44th minute with a goal by Benrithung. Guqhe then scored in the 91st minute, leading Langsa Hill FC to victory.
