DIMAPUR — A four-day training programme for the master trainers of Census 2027 began at the conference room of the Directorate of Census Operations, Nagaland, in Kohima on May 13.
The training will continue until May 16 and is scheduled to cover all aspects of the forthcoming phase I of the Census—the House Listing and Housing Census.
According to a DIPR report, delivering the keynote address, Director of Census Operations Dr. Kenei Miachieo briefed the master trainers about the organisational structure of the Census at the central and state levels, along with an overview of the Census processes.

He pointed out the importance of the role of master trainers as a key link in the training cascade and urged them to give their best in subsequent training sessions.
There are six master trainers for Nagaland, four from the state government and two from the Directorate of Census. The master trainers will train 130 field trainers, who will in turn train about 6,000 enumerators and supervisors in the coming days.
National trainers Mhathung Rangthang, Assistant Director, and Imtimendang, Statistical Investigator, are the resource persons for the training.
