Mason stabbed to death in Chümoukedima after dispute over loud music; accused co-worker arrested, investigation underway, police confirm details.

DIMAPUR — A 30-year-old mason, Subhash Ram, died after being allegedly stabbed multiple times by a co-worker following an argument over loud music at the 3rd Mile area in Chümoukedima district on the night of March 20.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased, a native of Motihari district in Bihar, was working at a construction site in the area. The incident occurred at around 8 pm when the labourers were preparing dinner.
Reports stated that Subhash Ram was stabbed several times, including on the abdomen and face, after he objected to loud music being played. He succumbed to his injuries while being taken to District Hospital, Dimapur.

Witnesses alleged that the accused had a habit of consuming alcohol and often displayed a belligerent attitude towards other labourers. He was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Police have arrested the accused, a resident of Assam, and lodged him at Diphupar Police Station. Further details are awaited.
