DIMAPUR —  The Marwaripatti Area Business Association, Dimapur (MABAD), has expressed concern over the poor condition of roads in the locality, particularly the main stretch along Marwaripatti Road.

According to a press release issued by MABAD, the association was recently formed under the leadership of president Zheito Chophy, with advisors OM Prakash Sethi and Bhabhuti Rai GB, vice presidents Chhawi Sethi, Sanjay Jain Binaykia and Nawal Kishore, general secretary (administration) Khetoi Zhimo, general secretary (organisation) Naresh Jain, and secretaries Toma Zhimomi, Nishant Agrawal, Lalit Jain and Rajeev Singh.

It said that for decades, the residents of Marwaripatti have proactively nurtured their locality’s infrastructure. Roads such as Jain Temple Road and Jain Bhawan Road were built and maintained over the years through community goodwill, donations, and collective effort. Yet, despite their contributions in trade, business, and civic responsibility, Marwaripatti continues to be overlooked in terms of essential civic amenities.

“The present deteriorating condition of Marwaripatti’s main road is not merely an inconvenience—it is a stark reminder of prolonged neglect. While the area has flourished as a hub of entrepreneurship, commerce, and peaceful coexistence, its people feel that their contributions and sacrifices remain undervalued. This locality, home to hundreds of business families who fuel Dimapur’s economy, deserves recognition through reliable infrastructure, especially durable and well-maintained roads,” it read.

The release further noted that neglecting such a vital economic centre sends a discouraging message—not only to its residents but also to the wider business community of Nagaland.

The association urged the Government of Nagaland, the Urban Development Department, and all concerned authorities to take immediate and concrete measures to improve road infrastructure in the locality, beginning with the main road.
