MOKOKCHUNG — The Marepkong Baptist Arogo Christian Education Ministry conducted a two-day Life Skills Development Programme in Mokokchung on October 1 and 2, targeting children aged 9 to 15 years.
The programme aimed to equip young participants with practical abilities to face future challenges and foster early independence.
Objectives included addressing youth unemployment and limited job opportunities, enabling children to earn pocket money to reduce dependence on parents, encouraging self-reliance from a young age, promoting self-employment through creative pursuits, and highlighting the importance of life skills in personal and career growth.
Practical sessions covered accessories making, crochet, wooden artefacts crafting, and basic sewing, offering participants marketable skills.
The workshop was led by Imnaienla, Christian education director, with instructors from the Christian education team and two church members. A total of 82 children participated, supported by 15 guiding teachers.
